Role models are important to every young girl, especially teens. Our program is designed for AA young girls ages 8-18. As AA we face systemic racism every day. It is the mission of our program to help these young girls understand their uniqueness, values, and talents as well as discover their passion in life.
Our program provides AA girls and teens with lifelong mentors. The program assists the girl in developing and cultivating to become her best. It allows her to work aside other girls on projects, civic duties, STEM programs, safety awareness, educational choices, and self love/care.
Why African American young girls? We chose to work with African American young girls because there is a lack of mentorship programs for this population. It is not often they see a reflection of themselves in Corporate America or STEM careers. The systemic racism allows these girls to have a misguided view of their potential. Our program allows these girls opportunities to learn and hopefully enter into careers where we do not have much representation such as STEM, Mental Health Careers, and Business Ownership.
